What is Liquidations for Hyperliquid?

Hyperliquid liquidations are leveraged HYPE futures positions that exchanges closed by force because the trader's margin fell below the maintenance requirement.

Sharpe splits HYPE liquidations into long and short volume and aggregates them across Binance, Bybit, Deribit, so you can see which side of the Hyperliquid market was forced out and when.

How to read the Hyperliquid Liquidations chart

Long liquidations cluster when Hyperliquid falls quickly; short liquidations cluster when it rallies. A tall bar is a cascade, where forced selling or buying pushed price further and triggered more liquidations.

A large long-liquidation spike near a local low often marks capitulation, and a short-liquidation spike near a high often marks a squeeze. Neither is a signal on its own: check whether open interest recovered afterwards.

Exchange liquidation feeds can leave out some orders, so treat the totals as a lower bound rather than an exact count.
